Biotic Factors are any living things that affect another organism, including animals that consume the organism and the organisms that are consumed. Every biotic factors needs energy and food for proper growth.
plankton
Plankton are one-celled organisms that free-float in the water column, they function like plants in a terrestrial ecosystems. Plankton include diatoms, dinoflagellates, and protist. Some are species of algae.
whales
The Humpback whale is the most well known of the whale species. Humpbacks are also well known for their surface behavior. They are most frequently seen diving, pee-waving, lob ailing, and spy hopping. Hump back whales often use calling patterns to communicate over long distances. Humpback feed using their baleen plates which hang out of the roof of their mouth. They usually feed on krill.
polar bears
You many not think that a polar bear would be a part of the arctic oceans marine life but it is. It spends most of its time on the ice that floats on the surface of the ocean, but is still counted a marine mammal because they are near the top of the Arctic Ocean's food web. It eats mainly seals, but it will eat fish and seabirds when seals are unavailable
